Senate backs prayer time, Ten Commandments in classrooms The Texas Senate last week passed a bill to allow school districts to set aside time for in-school prayer and gave initial approval to requiring all schools to post a copy of the Ten Commandments in every classroom.

March sales tax allocations total $1.1 billion

Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Wednesday, March 12 that he was sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for March, 10.2 percent more than in March 2024.
