The Fayette County Republican Party will conduct all precinct conventions and its county convention on Saturday, March 23 starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Texas A&MAgrilife Extension building located at 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange.

Warda residents briefly evacuate due to gas leak

Residents in the Warda area of Fayette County were asked to briefly evacuate their residences Monday evening, March 4. According to Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller, a natural gas leak occurred around 7 p.m. in the area of Giese Lane in Warda.

Massive wildfires ignited by power lines Two wildfires that burned more than 1 million acres in the Panhandle were caused by downed power lines, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
