SHS one-act play selected as alternate at bi-district contest

After advancing past district for the first time since 2013, Schuienburg High School’s one-act play this year (“Sylvia' by A. R. Gurney) received the bidistrict alternate trophy. Shiner, Ganado, and Milano were selected to advance to the area round at the bi-district competition for District 27-2A and District 28-2A, held at Caldwell High School on Thursday, March 21.

High school ball teams hosting Turtle Wing Games

Turtle Wing Foundation has partnered with area high school baseball and softball teams to host Turtle Wing Games, during which a student enrolled in special education gets to throw out the first pitch. Turtle Wing Games are being held in conjunction with Autism Acceptance Month, observed annually in April Turtle Wing’s mission is “helping individuals with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential” and Turtle Wing Games are part of the foundation’s education and advocacy efforts.

Schulenburg Elementary pre-K/kinder round-up set

Schulenburg Elementary School will hold a pre-K/kindergarten round-up on Thursday, April 4 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the front office, during which parents/ guardians can register their pre-K and kindergarten students for the 2024-25 school year.

Texas 108’s team wins tournament in Pflugerville

Texas 108’s 10U team won the Rodeo Round Up Tournament in Pflugerville over the weekend with a 5-0 record. On Saturday, March 23, the team defeated Impact 14-2 and TRPD Spartans 15-0. On Sunday, March 24 in bracket play, the team defeated TRPD Spartans 7-5, Canes Southwest 12-4 and Hays Rampage 15-0 in the finals.
