County’s unemployment increases to 4.6% in June, state’s rate ticks up slightly

The Texas Workforce Commission released labor market statistics for June last week and they showed that the statewide seasonally-adjusted unemployment rose 0.1 of a percent to 4.4 percent.

Fayette and eight surrounding counties saw more significant increases in their rates (not seasonally adjusted). Fayette County had the highest rate at 4.6 percent, up from 3.8 in May. Lavaca County had the lowest…
