Fayette County Fair pageant winners named

The Fayette County Fair kicked off Thursday evening, Aug. 31 with another near record attendance. The evening included the crowning of a new royalty court.

Meth and heroin were located in a vehicle during a traffic stop in the La Grange area by the Fayette County Undercover Narcotics Unit.

The Stanzel Family Foundation Inc. has generously granted $30,000 to help build long-term support of the ACCSS program. (ACCSS) Alliance for College & Career Student Success was established a little over two years ago with an $842,120 grant from Greater Texas Foundation.

Grand Champion in the Schulenburg Young Farmers Hay Show went to Dennis Brower. His jumbo rye grass entry sold for $2,100 at the auction, which was held on Thursday, Aug. 31 in conjunction with the Fayette County Fair.
