Clutch plays in 41-40 overtime win

A 911 call reporting a structure fire off Highway 77 past Hausmann Gin Road south of La Grange was received on Monday, Sept. 18 around 12:52 p.m., according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Guentert elected as new SVFD chief

Darren Guentert became the Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department’s 13th chief last Thursday, Sept. 14. Established in 1903, the SVFD holds elections annually at its September meeting and Guentert was chosen to follow Jeff Proske in the top position.

Houston man arrested by SPD after illegal mushrooms found

Atraffic stop by the Schulenburg Police Department on Wednesday, Sept. 13 resulted in the arrest of a Houston man on drug possession charges.

Pursuit thru Schulenburg ends in Hallettsville

An attempted traffic stop on Interstate 10 led to a pursuit through Schulenburg and Hallettsville and eventually to the arrest of a Hallettsville man on drug charges on Wednesday, Sept. 13, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek. Sheriff Korenek reported that at approximately 11:18 a.m.
