State unemployment rate decreases slightly in Sept.

The Texas seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 4.0 percent last month, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from August, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. During that span, Fayette County’s rate (not seasonally adjusted) fell by the same amount.

Schulenburg Police Department officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit on Wednesday, Oct. 19 that resulted in the arrest of two individuals from Houston. According to the SPD report, an attempt was made to stop a gray Toyota Sienna for a traffic violation at approximately 1:35 a.m.
