At last week’s Fayette County Commissioners Court meeting, Precinct 4 Commissioner Drew Brossmann reported that the Texas Department of Transportation approved eight message boards on Interstate 10 in Fayette County. They will be located from the Gonzales County line to the Colorado County line.

Animal shelter lease extended, hazard mitigation plan progressing

The Fayette County Commissioners Court approved extending the lease agreement with the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter for an additional 25 years at its meeting on Thursday, Oct. 27. Currently, the animal shelter is halfway through a 50-year lease.

County tire disposal drop-off dates slated

Citizens will be able to get rid of their old tires through an initiative of the Fayette County Commissioners Court. At its meeting on Thursday, Oct. 27, the dates for Fayette County’s tire disposal were set as follows: • Monday, Nov. 7 – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; • Wednesday, Nov. 9 – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
