Officials voice concern over trash along county roads

During the public comment period of last Thursday’s Fayette County Commissioners Court meeting, County Judge Joe Weber said there is a tremendous amount of trash along county roads, especially around bridges and creeks.

Fayette County Judge Joe Weber was authorized to sign an amendment to the School Land Lease dated June 2, 2016, increasing the price per acre to $18 and extending it to June 2, 2027. The Commissioners Court approved the measure 4-1 last Thursday. Precinct 1 Commissioner Jason McBroom opposed.

The City of Schulenburg has scheduled its spring citywide cleanup – open only to customers who live inside the city limits and pay monthly garbage fees – on the following dates: Wednesday, March 9 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 12 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
