First pitch for Turtle Wing game

Burn ban stays in effect

A ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated areas, originally enacted on Feb. 15, was left in place at the Fayette County Commissioners Court meeting on Thursday, March 24.

Rodriguez named all-region

Lady Horn junior Airyanna Rodriguez was selected to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ all-region team for Class 2A Region IV. All-region and all-state honorees were announced last week in all classifications by the TABC.

Schulenburg FFA’ers compete in livestock judging at Houston

Hooper Day at Ballpark, Homerun Derby planned

The 11th annual Jack Hooper Day at the Ballpark & Homerun Derby will be a little different this year as events will be held on two separate days, since the weather has not cooperated the past couple of years. On Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m.

Service station from 1950s turned into short-term lodging

After some 70 years, the building along Highway 90 on the west end of town has gone from a place to get flats fixed to becoming a “flat.” A project of Joe and Roxanne Orsak, the Sinclair service station at 1319 Summit St. was transformed into a bed and breakfast/short-term lodging facility.
