County department heads give review of last year

The heads of Fayette County departments provided the following highlights from their departments. Grants Department Grants Specialist Angela Hahn Fayette County received the first of two tranches of money allocated to it through the American Rescue Plan in May 2021.

December lacked rain but year ends above average

Chamber helps collect Santa letters from local kids

Land division approved for new EMS station here

The Fayette County Commissioners Court approved a variance application from Dolores Greive for the new EMS station in Schulenburg at its regular meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 22. The action allows 11.

Constables to add security to Courthouse, County buildings

Fayette County constables will start security duties at the Courthouse and associated County office buildings in La Grange at the beginning of January. The Commissioners Court, at its meeting on Dec. 22, approved a minimum of 208 hours per year and compensation of $5,000.

Unemployment rates continue to decrease statewide as well as for Fayette County area

For the second straight month, Texas’ seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate dropped 0.2 percentage points to 5.2 percent in November, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. Likewise, the numbers for Fayette and eight surrounding counties decreased slightly from October. They ranged from 0.
