Price to lease Fayette County’s School Land raised by 4-1 vote

Fayette County Judge Joe Weber was authorized to sign an amendment to the School Land Lease dated June 2, 2016, increasing the price per acre to $18 and extending it to June 2, 2027. The Commissioners Court approved the measure 4-1 last Thursday. Precinct 1 Commissioner Jason McBroom opposed.

Two candidates sought the position of Fayette County Commissioner, Precinct 4, in the Republican Primary Election on Tuesday, March 1. Drew Brossmann, who currently holds the office, won over Stephen Matula by a margin of 1,104 votes to 303 votes.
