ARTS seeks items for holiday shows at 2 sites

This year, Arts for Rural Texas will host two great holiday shows. One will be held at ARTS’ Ross Gallery in Fayetteville and the second will be held at the Schulenburg ARTS Campus. ARTS celebrates all the makers in the region.

Thomas’ book proceeds go to Blinn scholarship

When most people endow a Blinn College District scholarship, they write a check. Elaine Thomas wrote a book. Thomas has dedicated the proceeds from her new book, “Stories I’ve Been Told: Volume 1,” to an endowed scholarship that she and husband Emil established several years ago.

Lady Horns fall to Thrall in final ... again

For the second straight season, the Lady Horns’ playoff run ended with a loss to Thrall in the Class 2A Region IV final. While the 2020 match went five sets, the Tigerettes were able to sweep Schulenburg 25-17, 26- 24, 25-15 this past Saturday in Brenham to earn a state tournament berth.

Praha Veterans Day Memorial Service held Nov. 7

The 59th Praha All Veterans Day service was held on Sunday, Nov. 7 to commemorate 76 years since the end of World War II as well as honor all veterans of all eras and services. It also highlights the nine men from the Praha community who lost their lives during that war.

‘Teacher sundae’ contest brings in food for local pantry

Two of the “winning” teachers – Wesley Kutac (left) and Jason Bourgeois – get turned into “sundaes” by several high school students during last Friday’s pep rally. It culminated Schulenbrug ISD’s food drive benefitting the Schulenburg Area Food Pantry.
