Billing provider for EMS selected

The Fayette County Commissioners Court selected Emergicon, a Dallas-based company, as the new EMS billing provider at a meeting on Thursday, Aug. 26. “Our percentage that we pay the billing company would go up three percent,” EMS Director Josh Vandever said.

Donations being accepted for Juarez family

Donations are being accepted for the Fernando Juarez family, whose home at 1207 Kessler Ave. in Schulenburg was destroyed by fire Tuesday, Aug. 10. Although all three family members and their dog residing there escaped without injury, the house and contents were lost.

Permit for oil & gas company approved with stipulations

Local post office among first in area to get ‘next-generation’ vehicle

This past spring, the highlyanticipated “Next Generation Delivery Vehicle” of the U.S. Postal Service, known as the Metris, began to make its debut into Texas. Recently, the Schulenburg Post Office became one of the first in the Central Texas area to get an NGDV.

Public hearing scheduled for proposed city tax rate

A public hearing on the $0.2187 property tax rate (per $100 of valuation) proposed for the City of Schulenburg was set by the City Council at a special meeting Monday, Aug. 23. It will be held at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the City Council Chambers, 607 Upon Ave.
