Local man arrested after search of residence

Sheriff Keith Korenek reported last week that a month-long investigation by the Fayette County Undercover Narcotics Unit resulted in a search warrant conducted on a residence in Schulenburg on Thursday, April 1.

Public hearing on Perdue’s tax abatement rescheduled

Because the final revision of a tax abatement agreement was received a few days later than expected, the Fayette County Commissioners Court reset the date of a public hearing on Perdue Farms’ application at its meeting on Thursday, April 8.

The City of Schulenburg has scheduled its spring city-wide cleanup – open only to customers who live inside the city limits and pay monthly garbage fees – on the following dates: Wednesday, April 14 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Schulenburg High senior FFA member Morgan Marburger brought home a first-place plaque in the Houston Livestock Show Public Speaking Virtual Finals, held on Saturday, March 27. Her speech – “The More You Know” – also earned her a $2,500 cash prize as well as a felt banner.
