Outbuilding consumed in blaze at vacant property

Flames reached high into trees and the black smoke that billowed was seen for miles away but no injuries were reported in a structure fire behind the home at 507 Bucek St. Saturday night.

Horns hosting Sacred Heart this Friday for inaugural game on new football field

CattleWomen donate beef to area food pantries

Summer is traditionally grilling season, though for many of those who live in Texas grilling season is year-round. This summer, Navidad Valley CattleWomen celebrated grilling season by donating 200 pounds of ground beef to area food pantries.

Structure fire reported north of La Grange

A 911 call reporting a structure fire on Luther Hill Road near FM 2145 north of La Grange was received by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, Aug. 16 around 1:58 p.m., according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Addition of three sports at SJH approved

County tax rate, salaries proposed

The planned salaries and allowances of elected officials, all part of Fayette County’s proposed 2026 budget that was scheduled to be published, were approved at the regular meeting of the Commissioners Court on Thursday,Aug.
