From rental fees, contractual matters, and setting an open house to oversight, tables, and chairs, the Schulenburg City Council and three City staffers went over all aspects of the Civic Center inside the newly-renovated facility at a workshop on Tuesday, June 3.

Grant requires citizens’ input through survey

Fayette County was one of three applicants in the region to be tentatively approved for funding through the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Community Block Development grant (CDBG). The application was to secure funding for fire rescue/safety equipment for each department in the county.

Summer Reading Program gets under way at Public Library

A puppet show by Mr. Leo of Houston last Friday helped kick off the Schulenburg Public Library’s 2025 Summer Reading Program for youngsters.“Color Our World” is this year’s theme and planned weekly activities include a magic show, live animals, and much more.

Festival pageant set for July 19, sponsors sought

The date for this year’s Schulenburg Festival Scholarship Pageant has been set for Saturday, July 19 at the Knights of Columbus Schulenburg Hall starting at 6:30 p.m.Local youth will be competing in five categories: Miss Schulenburg, Young Miss, Junior Miss, Little Miss, and Little Mister.

Three arrested after trying to cash bogus check at local bank

Schulenburg Police Department officers were dispatched to Fayette Savings Bank at 87 N. Kessler Ave. last week in reference to an individual attempting to cash a fraudulent check.The incident was reported on Monday, June 2 at approximately 3:45 p.m.
