Following an executive session at last week’s Schulenburg ISD Board of Trustees meeting, contract extensions for administrators were approved in open session.Among those were Secondary Principal Callene Zapalac, whose contract was extended through the 2027-28 school year.

In her first year of high school, Ellie Hammack finished as the third strongest girl in the 114-pound weight class at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association Class 1A/2A State Championship.

The 11th Annual Schulenburg Sausagefest will be held downtown on Saturday, April 11.The event will take place on North Main Street between LyonsAvenue and WoltersAvenue, including the Railroad Park. Admission is free.Sausage-making contests, as always, highlight the event.
