Craig Steven Rainosek, 60, passed away on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026 in Schulenburg.
He was born Oct. 8, 1965 to Doris (Berger) and Leo J. Rainosek in Harris County. They traded city life for country life before Craig started school. He was raised on the family farm in the Oakland area and became their right-hand man at an early age. Craig attended St. Michael School in Weimar through eighth grade and graduated from Weimar High School in 1984. He then attended and graduated from Universal Technical School after studying diesel mechanics. He married Mary Fojtik on Sept. 3, 1988 and settled near the family farm. During their 37 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children, Kaitlin and Colby. Craig lived his life based on his deep faith. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Weimar and the Knights of Columbus. He was a regular helper at St. Michael and KC fundraisers.
Craig loved the country life, particularly tractors and making hay. He spent many happy hours repairing tractors and equipment and even restoring tractors. He had a love of antique tractor pulls and a lifelong enjoyment of riding motorcycles, sometimes even taking his dog Stella with him. Monster trucks, car repair shows and looking for deals on Facebook marketplace were also hobbies he enjoyed. His favorite pastime was spending time with family, especially being a PoPo to his grandchildren Jake and Millie. He always looked forward to their visits and couldn’t wait to make more memories with them.
Craig was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo H. and Lillie (Adamcik) Rainosek, and Otto and Edna (Berger) Berger; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert “Fritz” and Agnes (Koncaba) Fojtik.
Craig is survived by wife Mary Rainosek; daughter Kaitlin Grahmann and husband Dylan; son Colby Rainosek and fiancee Carsyn Herring; grandchildren Jake and Millie Grahmann; parents Leo J. and Doris Rainosek; brother Perry Rainosek and wife Stephanie; sisters-in-law Darlene Flores and husband Tony, and Janice Jobb and husband Daniel; and nieces and nephews Shea Anne Rainosek, Payne Rainosek, Tony Flores Jr., Robin Smith, Melissa Bommarito, Crissy Dealing and Mark Jobb.
Funeral services officiated by Fr. Chase Goodman were held on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026 at 4 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Weimar, with visitation starting at 2 p.m., rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. and burial in the Dubina Cemetery.
