Annie Meyer was born in the Weimar Youens Clinic on March 4, 1930. She died Sept. 5, 2021, at the age of 91 at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center. Her childhood years were spent doing chores on their farm & attending school in Sedan. In 1941 her family moved to Weimar to operate their recently purchased grocery store. She attended St. Michael’s Catholic School & graduated from Weimar High School.
According to her family, Annie loved country music and good, fun-loving entertainment. But her proudest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren! In December of 2020, her family was blessed with a great-great-granddaughter who gave them five living generations. Annie was very active in her daughters’ lives including being a leader for their Girl Scout groups. She baked for their school fundraisers, was a carpool driver and a cheerleader at all of their extra-curricular events. Her daily routine consisted of cooking three meals, including afterschool snacks. In addition to all the household chores, she managed to sew all her daughters’ dresses. Plus, she made sure the whole family attended Mass every Sunday. Her commitment to God and the Catholic Church was also displayed by her involvement with the St. Rose Catholic Daughters. She was a member for 60 years and held several officer positions during that time-span.
In her spare time Annie enjoyed watching the soap opera, “As The World Turns” and often made wine from wild mustang grapes, which she picked herself. In addition to being a fulltime mom and domestic engineer, Annie’s career jobs included: being the bookkeeper for their Conoco gas station, cafeteria cook at Bishop Forest High School for six years, and sales representative for Stanley Home Products for forty one years.
Annie’s funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 at St. Rose Catholic Church. Rosary was recited by Cynthia Kosler and Mass services were officiated by Fr.
