Carolyn Miksch McCoy

Carolyn Miksch McCoy went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 26, 2022.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1947 in Schulenburg to Henry and Louise Miksch. She attended St Rose of Lima School. As a young adult she moved to San Antonio and Austin to further her education. She married Jack Frerick in 1982 and they welcomed twin sons in 1984. They raised their sons with love and wisdom in Elgin. Jack passed away in 2004. Carolyn met Mike McCoy and moved to Washington-on-the-Brazos and they married in 2015. Mike passed away in 2019. Carolyn recently moved back to her home in Elgin.

Family was always important to Carolyn. It was special for her to spend time with her husbands and children. Family gatherings with sisters and brothers, weddings of nieces and nephews and other celebrative events were not to be missed. She always loved the outdoors, going for long walks, working in her garden, and enjoying the colorful flowers in her yard. She was an exceptional cook.

Survivors include sons, Robin Frerick and wife Amanda, grandchildren James and Kiera, and Neil Frerick and wife Jennifer, grandchildren Henry, Emily and Jack; stepson, Jeff McCoy; sisters, Sister Earline Louise Miksch, Vernell Beran and husband Tony, Sister Helen Marie Miksch, Linda Doster, and Diane Cox and husband Mike; brothers, Alvin Miksch and wife Irene, Leroy Miksch and wife Pat, Clarence Miksch, Henry Miksch and wife Gloria, Harlen Miksch and wife Jane, David Miksch and wife Karen, and Dennis Miksch and wife Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Louise Miksch; husbands, Jack Frerick and Mike McCoy; infant brother, Larry Miksch; sister-in-law, Bernice Miksch; brother-in-law, Fredie Doster; and nephews, Tony Beran Jr and Clarence Miksch Jr.

Wake services were held at 7 p.m. at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home on Thursday, March 31. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1. Burial was at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Brenham on April 1st.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a location of choice of Hospice or charitable organization of one’s choice.
