Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 member Steve Fojtik (front) was presented a Quilt of Valor at his home in Moulton by Anita Todd, representing the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild.

Beekeepers School set Mar. 6 in Brenham

The 16th annual Central Texas Beekeepers School will be held on Saturday, March 7 at Brenham High School in Brenham. The school is open to the public for anyone interested in keeping bees or who wants to learn about bees.

Senior Spotlight on Monday, Jan. 5 in Schulenburg featured Frank Lafferty, a kind and gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor. It was very touching to hear his life story and how he made his way to Flatonia and to Senior Connections. “We are lucky to have him as part of our family,” Stephanie Shroyer, program director, said, “Every morning, I tell myself to ‘Be Like Frank!’”

Sr. Connections: gathering place for active seniors

At Senior Connections, membership is free for those age 55 and older, making it an inviting space for fun, camaraderie and the chance to make new friends while cherishing old ones. The schedule is consistent across all three locations (Schulenburg, Weimar and Flatonia): doors open at 9 a.m.
