The annual Fayette County 4-H Banquet was held on Sunday,Aug. 7 at the Historic Casino Hall in La Grange. The 4-H banquet is the culmination of the year’s activities for members, as one year closes and a new year begins.

REUNIONS

Brown Family The 53rd annual Brown family reunion will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20 at St. Mary’s Parish Hall located at 1648 FM 340 near Hallettsville from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The reunion takes place each year on the third Saturday in August.

MEETINGS

Vietnam Veterans of America Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 meets on the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Ammannsville KJT Hall in Ammannsville. Food and refreshments will be provided at the meeting.

On Pointe dancers win at national competition

Multiple local ballet and dance students competed at the Dance Showcase USA National Finals in Fort Worth from June 20-26. The students received an incredible reception and high awards.

Turtle Wing annual S’Wing & Shoot Ball Drop set

The third annual Turtle S’Wing & Shoot will be occurring on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Big Easy Ranch in Columbus. This is Turtle Wing’s largest event of the year, with all proceeds going toward the mission of Turtle Wing Foundation.
