Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites near La Grange are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Trail of Lights, with the holiday tradition having opened on Dec. 12 and running through Dec. 23.

Sr. Connections celebrates with joy, community spirit

Senior Connections hosted a heartwarming Christmas celebration at the KC Hall in Schulenburg on Wednesday, Dec. 10. With members from its satellite locations in Weimar and Flatonia joining, the event attracted a lively crowd of 172 attendees eager to share food, fellowship and festive fun.

Letters-to-Santa Dropoff at Chamber OfficeThe Chamber of Commerce invites youngsters to drop off their letters to Santa in the mailbox on the Chamber office porch through Tuesday, Dec. 16. The Chamber will have Santa reply to the letters.
In Weimar, members had a very exciting program on Tuesday, Dec. 7. PA-C Abigayle Adamson, Dr. Leah Mikesky and Cameron from Dr. Duchicela’s office brought a new Jeopardy game for members to play and learn about topics like nutrition, diabetes, lifestyle, vitamins/ supplements and “mystery.” Members were grouped into teams and played against each other. Two teams ended up with the same score at the end, so there had to be a tiebreaker. The winning team received gift cards from Subway.

Approaching the end of 2025, Senior Connections, a vibrant activity center for seniors age 55 and up, is reflecting on a year of remarkable achievements and looking forward to an exciting 2026.
