PLCTM slates donor appreciation dance

The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum (PLCTM) will host the third annual “donor appreciation dance” on Sunday, Nov. 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Fayette County Fairgrounds pavilion in La Grange.

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary Unit will hold their annual Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at the American Legion Home in Wolters Park. A social will start at 6 p.m. followed by the meal and awards presentation at 7 p.m.Dress is casual with Legionnaire cap.

The Schulenburg High School class of 1962 celebrated its 63-year class reunion on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia. Classmates gathered from near and far to talk and laugh at old memories and make new ones that will surely be remembered “until they meet again.

A chili cook-off team with two members who work in Schulenbug brought home the coveted first place Showmanship award in the CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) Czhili Cook-off at the Flatonia Czhilispiel on Saturday, Oct. 25.

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Tuesday, Oct. 7.First vice commander Ed Semler called the meeting to order with 34 Legion and 10 Auxiliary members in attendance. Auxiliary chaplain Linda Dieringer read the prayer.
