Master Gardeners to host program on plumerias

“Plumerias” will be the topic for the Bluebonnet Master Gardener lunch-and-learn educational program scheduled for Tuesday, June 10 at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange.Guest speaker will be Master Gardener Faye Beery.

County judge signs proclamation designating June 14 as National Flag Day

Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller has signed a proclamation designating Saturday, June 14 as National Flag Day. On hand were three members of KJZT Family Life, Hostyn Society No. 23.

Legion and Auxiliary had monthly meetings May 6

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Tuesday, May 6.Prior to the meeting, a delicious meal for family of deceased Legion and Auxiliary members was held.

A contingent of Senior Connections members traveled to Gonzales recently to learn about the city’s important role in Texas history, visiting many sites where action took place. Two knowledgeable guides shared the story. The tour ended at the Gonzales Memorial Museum, where everyone gathered to view one of the “Come & Take It”cannons and many fascinating displays.

SchoenerThe Schoener reunion will be held on Sunday, June 1 at the KC Hall in Schulenburg starting at 11 a.m., with a meal served at noon. The registration fee is $10 per family and $5 per individual. Families should bring enough food for themselves.
