Grant application process opened by Stanzel Foundation

The Stanzel Family Foundation (SFF) has opened its general grant application process, offering funding opportunities for local nonprofits and organizations serving the Schulenburg and Weimar communities.

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Tuesday, April 1. Commander Bob Heinrich called the meeting to order with 42 Legion and 11Auxiliary members in attendance. Auxiliary chaplain Linda Dieringer read the prayer.

Quilt Guild given programs by Galvan, Groves

The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild welcomed Donna Galvan, owner of Donna’s Quilting Respite in College Station, to the monthly meeting on Tuesday evening, April 22.Galvan is a certified “Laura Heine” and “By Annie” instructor. She gave insight into her own personal journey in the art of quilting.

First Aid, CPR training set June 28 in La Grange

The Texas AgriLife Extension Office of Fayette County will host a First Aid & CPR training on Saturday, June 28 at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, Room 104, La Grange.

Approaching the last week of April, Schulenburg is set to host an exciting lineup of activities.On Monday, April 28, the morning will be filled with coffee, conversation and friendly competition as everyone gathers to play their favorite games. A delicious home-cooked meal awaits at 11:30 a.m.

Lions Club Nontraditional Student ScholarshipThe Schulenburg Lions Club is offering one or more $2,000 nontraditional student scholarships. The scholarship can be used for secondary education, going back to school, graduate studies, work certifications, technical school, nursing programs, etc.
