Shakespeare at Winedale performances start July 18

Shakespeare at Winedale’s 2024 summer class takes the stage this July with performances of Shakespeare’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Othello.” The season will open on Thursday, July 18, and run through Sunday, Aug. 11.

DieringerThe 29th Dieringer reunion will be held on Saturday, July 20 at Freyburg Hall. A social will start at 1 p.m., meeting at 3 p.m., auction at 3:30 p.m. and meal at 5:30 p.m.The catered meal will include brisket, sausage, chicken, potatoes, beans and salad.

Free seed library to open Aug. 24 in Columbus

Area gardening enthusiasts have banded together to create a free community seed library for all residents of Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Lavaca and Wharton Counties. Beginner gardeners are encouraged to participate, but the library is for every level of gardener.

Veterans urged to take part in oral history program

Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D. has issued a statewide call for veterans to share their stories with the VLB through the GLO’s Voices of Veterans oral history program.Veterans can send an email to VoicesofVeterans@glo.texas.
