Series set on healthy living with chronic conditions

A six-week series, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions – Getting Your Life Back,” will be held every Thursday from Aug. 1 through Sept. 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Schulenburg Public Library meeting Room, 310 Simpson St.

KrischkeThe 46th Krischke family reunion will be held on Sunday, July 21 at St. Mary’s Hall in High Hill.The hall will open at 9 a.m. for set-up, and registration will begin at 10 a.m.A catered lunch of brisket, sausage and all the trimmings will be served.

Quilt Guild continues making quilts for charity

Colorado Valley Quilt Guild members were once again ironing, cutting, piecing and constructing quilts for the CVQG’s charity quilts project at a workshop held on Tuesday, May 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.Shortly after the guild meeting, which started at 10 a.m., the ladies went to work.

Fayette County Retired Teachers’ AssociationThe Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association will meet on Monday, June 10 at Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia. Lunch (self-pay) will be at 11:30 a.m., with officer installation at 1:30 p.m.

Juneteenth event set

Juneteenth will be celebrated in Schulenburg on Wednesday, June 19 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Wolters Park pavilion.Everyone is invited and there will be no admission fee.Activities will include a bike parade, bingo and door prizes.

Legion and Auxiliary had monthly meeting May 7

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 7. Commander Bob Heinrich called the meeting to order with 42 Legion and 10 Auxiliary members in attendance.Auxiliary chaplain Linda Dieringer led the opening prayer.
