Legion Riders present certificates, T-shirts

The American Legion Riders, Post 143 Schulenburg, gave certificates and T-shirts to Black Bean Run sponsors on Tuesday, May 21.The Black Bean Run motorcycle event was held on Saturday, April 6 in conjunction with the Sausagefest in Schulenburg.

Sacred Heart Parish-Flatonia Spring PicnicSacred Heart Parish in Flatonia will hold its spring picnic on Sunday, June 2 starting with Mass at 10 a.m. A fried chicken/stew dinner will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. (dine-in, drive-thru or walk-up) for $13 per plate.

Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum hosts ‘Happy Music for Happy People’

The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum, located in the Czech Village on the TCHCC grounds in La Grange, experienced a successful second annual “Happy Music for Happy People” open house and event on Sunday, May 19. Over one hundred area residents and visitors from as far as Nebraska toured the museum.

Archer gives program at Garden Club meeting

It was picnic time at Schulenburg Garden Club’s last meeting before summer vacation! President Bonnie Baker welcomed 29 members and three guests to the “picnic” on Tuesday, May 7.Members and guests recited the Garden Club Prayer, Garden Club Pledge and were invited to the luncheon.

Fayette County Retired Teachers had meeting May 13

Members of the Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association met on Monday, May 13, with 14 in attendance. The fellowship time was hosted by Kathy Migl, Debbie Morrill and Jeanne Wetjen. The book raffle item was donated by Marian Tajchman.

Literary Club holds luncheon at Sengelmann Hall
