Mobile mammography unit to visit

The Rose, a mobile mammography program, is coming to Fayette County on Monday, Feb. 5 through the assistance of Bluebonnet Trails Community Services and the Fayette County Extension Office. The unit will be located at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services, 750 West Travis St., La Grange.

CVQG to have Improv quilting program, workshop

Colorado Valley Quilt Guild welcomes everyone to bring in the new year by joining members at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan 23. Michelle Lavender from HollyDee Quilts will entertain with a trunk show and demonstrate her way of doing Improv quilting – a fun, no rules, free-to-be-me way of quilting.

Behlen gives program at Garden Club meeting

The Schulenburg Garden Club met on Tuesday, Jan. 2, and president Bonnie Baker welcomed members, guest speaker Andy Behlen and two guests. The group recited the Garden Club Prayer and enjoyed a “Paris in the Springtime” luncheon.

Square dance classes slated here on Thurs.

Schulenburg Square Dance Connection is offering square dance lessons on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Connections Center in Wolters Park (1111 Bohlmann Ave.) The classes began on Jan. 11 and the other two sessions this month – Jan. 18 and Jan. 25 – are free.

Young Farmers The Schulenburg Young Farmers will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the SISD Ag Science Building. FFA officers will be chairmen of the program and the topic will cover the shop show projects and the Schulenburg Junior Livestock Show results.

Winedale to host Zoom program on San Jacinto

Winedale Historic Site will host an online talk titled “18 Minutes through 187 Years: The Battle of San Jacinto and its National Aftermath” on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at noon via Zoom.
