Shiner overcomes spirited effort by Lady Horns in regular-season finale

Although the Lady Horns’ upset bid fell short against Shiner last Tuesday, Feb. 4, they finished the regular season with a strong showing against the second-place team from District 28-2A.

St. Rose girls’ team goes 3-0 in local tourney

The St. Rose girls’ “A” team, made up of seventh and eighth graders, earned gold medals with a 3-0 record in the eighth grade division of the Schulenburg Lady Horn Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 1.

One year removed from going 1-11 in district play, the Lady Horns upped their 28-2A record to 6-5 with a resounding 60-17 win in Bloomington on Friday, Jan. 31.Freshman Miranda Bonner led in scoring with 16 points.
