Lady Horns rout Bloomington, fall to Shiner

Horns even district record with pair of wins

After a 13-point win at home last week, the Shorthorns went on the road to notch a 19-point victory and even their record in District 28-2A at 2-2.Schulenburg (9-11) held Bloomington to 14 points in the first half at SHS Gym on Tuesday, Jan. 7 to take an 11-point lead into halftime.

K. of C. free throw contest scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25

Schulenburg Knights of Columbus Council 2902 will host the local level of the K. of C. Free Throw Championship on Saturday, Jan. 25.It will be held at Schulenburg ISD’s new gym at 10 a.m. Registration will begin at the gym at 9:30 a.m. There is no cost to enter.

Lady Horns down Maidens on road to even district record

The Lady Horns picked up a key district win in Ganado on Monday, Dec. 30 to even their 28-2A record at 2-2.Schulenburg, at 13-8 on the season, jumped out to a decisive 14-2 lead in the first quarter and played nearly even with the Maidens the rest of the game for a 42-32 final.

Horns suffer four-point loss in Ganado before falling to Aussies

Following a tough district loss on the road and a trip to San Antonio against a touring team from Australia last week, the Shorthorns’ season record dropped to 7-11.Schulenburg fell behind Ganado early on Monday, Dec. 31 in a 50-46 final.
