Two Lady Horns were selected to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State Volleyball Team, announced last week: Madison Kunschick (left), 1st Team; and Avery Helms (right), 2nd Team. Nominees must be seniors with a 92 or above grade-point average.

Racking up 515 yards, Shorthorns roll to 63-24 win in Flatonia

With the offense scoring on eight of nine possessions and the defense adding a fumble return for a touchdown, the Shorthorns recorded a 63-24 blowout win in the regular-season finale last Friday in Flatonia.Schulenburg faced only two third-down situations, converting one for a score.

Girls’ basketball season gets under way with blowout win over Waelder

Like last year’s team that went 5-28, the 2024-25 Lady Horns will be young but they got off to a good start with a 97-9 win over Waelder on Friday, Nov. 8 in the Schulenburg ISD Old Gym.

Lady Horns secure second-round sweep of Holland

Except for a second-set lull, the Lady Horns had no problem in their area playoff match last Thursday in Caldwell, improving to 33-11 on the season.After the first game lasted only 15 minutes, ending 25-7, Holland hung around in game two before falling 25-17.
