Horns pull away from Panthers with trio of third-quarter tallies

With a slippery, scrambling quarterback, Danbury effectively played keep-away for the first half last Friday night at David Husmann Memorial Stadium.After the break, the Shorthorns corralled Jace Flora and scored three touchdowns in the third quarter en route to a 42-0 win in their final home game.

The Lady Horns’ final match of District 27-2A play against Flatonia last Tuesday at SHS Gym didn’t take nearly as long as their earlier meeting but each of the three games were closelycontested.

Zaruba notches 250th win as St. Rose claims sixth straight DVAL championship

On Monday, Oct. 28 in Weimar, coach Sandy Zaruba not only led her team to another volleyball championship but also reached 250 career wins at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School.
