SHORTHORN JUNIOR VARSITY FOOTBALL

The junior varsity Shorthorns improved to 6-1 on the season with a 38-8 win over Giddings last Thursday, Oct. 10.In the first quarter, Caden Herzik scored on a 2-yard run and the two-point conversion was successful with a pass from Colton Richburg to Koi Prihoda.

Cross country teams qualify for regional meet

The Shorthorns claimed a championship while the Lady Horns finished as runners-up at the District 28-2A Cross Country Meet, held at Green-Dickson Park in Shiner on Monday, Oct. 7.Both teams qualified for the Region IV-2Aevent, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 21 at Texas A&MCorpus Christi.

’Cats control rivalry game for key district win over Horns

With a physical line and three skilled running backs, Weimar racked up nearly 400 yards on the ground last Friday while holding the Shorthorns to 26 points below their season average.

Lady Horns suffer first district loss in two years

After getting a 3-0 sweep in Ganado last Tuesday, the Lady Horns came up short in five sets on Friday in Weimar to end the week with a 24-10 season record. Schulenburg had not lost a district match since Oct. 8, 2022 when the Lady Comanches prevailed 3-2 in Shiner.
