SHS takes part in Shiner tennis tourney last week

Key one-run wins over Ganado, Shiner keep Horns atop 29-2A

By identical 3-2 margins last week, the Shorthorns downed the top two teams in District 29-2A last year. Heading into district games this week against Flatonia and Bloomington, Schulenburg owned a 13-3 season record and a 3-0 mark in 29-2A.

SISD to host track meets

For the first time since 2014, Schulenburg ISD will host track meets on its campus with the new facilities constructed through a bond project. Schedules for the two events:SHORTHORN RELAYS - Thursday, March 19• Field Events – starting at 1 p.m.

Lady Horns suffer three setbacks

After run-rule losses to the two top teams in District 29-2A, the Lady Horns fell to Moulton last week.Heading into action this week, Schulenburg had a 4-9 season record and 0-3 mark in district.

SHS golfers compete in Sacred Heart tournament

The Shorthorn golf team and two Lady Horns took part in the Sacred Heart Invitational, held at Victoria Country Club on Monday, March 9.Reid Janda carded a 74 and won a scorecard playoff to place second individually.

Horns extend winning streak to eight, including 13-4 decision over Weimar

After opening up District 29-2A play with a 14-3 win in Weimar last Tuesday, the Shorthorns went 3-0 in the Flatonia tournament.The four victories upped Schulenburg’s winning streak to eight and improved its season record to 11-3.

After run-rule loss in District 29-2A opener, Lady Horns go 1-3 in Flatonia tournament

Weimar scored all 17 of their runs in the bottom of the first inning to down Schulenburg in the District 29-2Aopener on Tuesday, March 3.LadycatAlazay Moreno pitched a shutout in the three-inning, runrule game. She gave up two hits and struck out three while walking one.
