Shorthorns nip Bulldogs, run-rule Bobcats

Despite 13 strikeouts and only two hits against Flatonia, the Shorthorns pulled out a 2-1, walkoff win at home last Tuesday.After a 17-1 victory on Friday in Bloomington that ended after three innings by run rule, Schulenburg had a 15-3 season record and a 5-0 mark in District 29-2A.

Flatonia’s 11-run sixth finishes off Lady Horns

In their only game last week, the Lady Horns fell 17-1 at home against Flatonia on Tuesday. Up 6-1 through five innings, the Lady Bulldogs scored 11 runs in the top of the sixth and the contest ended by run rule after Schulenburg was retired in the bottom half.

SJH hosts relays Friday

The Schulenburg Junior High track meet was held on Friday, March 20. East Bernard won all four divisions. Placing for the Shorthorns and Lady Horns were: 8TH GRADE GIRLS (4th Place – 53 Points)• Jessa Jarvis – 6th, long jump,12’3.25”; 4th, triple jump, 28’5”;• Arely Cortez – 1st, 800m, 2:47.
