Five Horns, three Lady Horns qualify for regional

The Shorthorns won the team championship with eight regional qualifiers while the Lady Horns’ team finished as the runner-up with three players advancing at the District 28-2A tennis tournament, held last Monday and Tuesday at Green-Dickson Park in Shiner.

SHS boys’ golf team places third at district

After consecutive 28-2A golf championships, the Shorthorns slipped to third place at this year’s district tournament held at Weimar Golf Course on Monday, March 30.Senior Reid Janda did make it four straight individual titles, carding an 81 to top the field by five strokes.

Lady Horns notch first district win before extra-inning victory

After run-ruling district foe Louise at home last week, the Lady Horns downed Moulton on the road in eight innings.Heading into play this week, Schulenburg had an overall record of 6-10 with a District 29-2Amark of 1-4.

Horns run rule Louise, Moulton

After a 10-0 win at home over Louise last week to finish up the first half of District 29-2A play undefeated, the Shorthorns crushed Moulton on the road 17-2 to improve to 17-3 on the season.Schulenburg jumped out to a 9-0 lead over the Hornets in its first at-bat on Tuesday.
