Spring sports districts for 2026-27 announced

Schulenburg High School will be facing an entirely new set of opponents next school year with the move up to Class 3A.District alignments for spring sports were announced by the University Interscholastic League earlier this month.

Lady Horns suffer two run-rule losses

After two games last week ended by run rule, the Lady Horns dropped to 6-14 on the season and 1-8 in District 29-2A.Schulenburg was held without a hit at the Sports Complex on Tuesday, when Shiner took home a 17-0 win in five innings.

Horns run-rule ’Cats, edge Indians

After taking care of Weimar by run rule to start the second half of district play last week, the Shorthorns defeated Ganado by two runs.With the wins, Schulenburg improved to 8-0 in 29-2A play and 19-3 on the season.

Lady Horns fall to Ladycats, Maidens

Run-rule losses to Weimar and Ganado last week dropped the Lady Horns’season record to 6-12 and District 29-2A mark of 1-6.

Shorthorns top seventh-grade division of junior high district track meet

The District 28-2A track meet was held on Monday, March 30 in Weimar.Placing for the Shorthorns and Lady Horns were:8TH GRADE GIRLS• Jessa Jarvis – 2nd, triple jump, 30’1.5”; 4th, long jump, 13’0”; 3rd, 400m, 74.82; 3rd, 200m, 30.88;• Josephine Wright – 6th, shot put, 25’7.
