Boys’ hoops summer league signup underway

The Schulenburg Hoops Summer League, open to boys will high school or junior high eligibility remaining, will run from June 1 to June 24 this year.It will consist of an eight-game regular season played on Monday nights in June.

Shorthorns finish off district play with 11-1 mark

Run-rule wins in their final two District 29-2A games last week assured the Shorthorns of a co-championship while they improved to 11-1 in district and a 22-4 overall.Schulenburg had an open date on April 21 and added a playoff warmup game in Marion on Thursday.

Eight from SHS qualify for regional track meet

By placing in the top four at the District 27 and District 28 Area Track Meet, hosted by Granger on Wednesday, April 15, seven Lady Horns and one Shorthorn will advance to the Region IV-2A event.

Lady Horns win 3 straight to end season

After notching three run-rule victories last week, the Lady Horns finished their season with a 9-14 overall record and 4-8 mark in District 29-2A.Schulenburg swept a doubleheader against Bloomington 15-0, 20-5 at the Sports Complex last Tuesday, April 14. Both games lasted only three innings.

Jandas compete at regional golf tourney

Shorthorn senior Reid Janda finished in a tie for fourth place at the Region IV-2Agolf tournament while fellow senior Jayse Janda tied for 15th.Both competed as medalists April 13-14 at Lozano Golf Course in Corpus Christi.

Horns handed first district loss, rebound by run-ruling Bulldogs

Two-out, clutch hits decided last Tuesday’s pivotal District 29-2A game at the Sports Complex.Shiner got one in the top of the second inning and another in the third to prevail 2-1 and pull into a tie with the Shorthorns atop the district standings.
