Lady Horns win six of 10 to climb over .500

After splitting a pair of matches last Tuesday, the Lady Horns won five of eight in the Bryan Legends Invitational to improve to 15-13 on the season.Schulenburg hosted two schools on Aug. 25 and started the evening with a four-set victory over Stockdale.

Horns take on rebuilding Refugio Friday

Two teams that were shut out in their openers will meet this Friday, Sept. 4 when Schulenburg travels to Refugio. Kickoff at Jack Sportsman Bobcat Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m.

Brahmas stampede past Shorthorns in delayed opener

Lightning delayed last Friday’s season opener in Hallettsville for an hour and 20 minutes and, after the 8:50 kickoff, the Brahmas struck repeatedly to charge past the Shorthorns for a 49-0 win.By the end of the first quarter, the home team amassed 164 yards and built a 21-0 lead.
