Lady Horns, Shorthorns earn state fall sports honors

Nine Shorthorns and Lady Horns earned state honors in their respective sports this past fall from the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) and the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA). Senior Taylor Limbaugh was one of 38 named to the TGCA’s all-state cross country team in Class 2A.

Shorthorns top pair of 4A foes

Prior to resuming their District 28-2A schedule this week, the Shorthorns improved to 6-4 on the season with wins over two Class 4A opponents. Schulenburg sealed a 62-48 victory at home over Gonzales on Monday, Dec.

Lady Horns add 3 non-district wins

The Lady Horns upped their season record to 10-3 with wins on three straight days last week, all against Class 4A opponents. District 28-2A play resumed this week with Schulenburg atop the standings with a 3-0 mark.

Lady Horns pick up two district wins

Prior to the Christmas break, the Lady Horns improved to 3-0 in District 28-2A play with wins over Flatonia and Weimar. Schulenburg’s season record stood at 7-3 heading into three non-district games scheduled for this week.
