Lady Horns blow out Bloomington

Playing only two and a half innings last week, the Lady Horns improved to 2-3 in District 29-2A and 9-8 overall. After run-ruling Bloomington at the Sports Complex on March 19, Schulenburg’s game on Friday in Louise was postponed to March 25 due to weather.

Horns notch pair of run-rule wins

After out-scoring Bloomington and Louise 34-1, the Shorthorns improved to 9-8 on the season and 3-2 in District 29-2A. Connor Lichnovsky pitched both games since they were six days apart.

Schramek places third at state free throw contest

Horns hold Little League Appreciation Night

Over 30 Little Leaguers, shown above along with Shorthorn varsity team members, took part in Little League Appreciation Night prior to last week’s game against Bloomington at the Sports Complex. Youngsters in their Little League uniforms were admitted free of charge and they got to run out onto the field with a Shorthorn as part of the pre-game lineup announcements.

Lady Horns notch first district win

After run-ruling Flatonia at home last Tuesday for their first district win, the Lady Horns fell in five innings at Shiner on Thursday. Schulenburg, at 1-3 in District 29-2A and 8-8 overall, finished off the Lady Bulldogs with six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 14-4 victory.

Horn golfers place third in two tourneys
