Like 2012, Eagles prevail in shootout with Shorthorns

Those who made the trip to Rogers 12 years ago definitely experienced more than a little déjà vu last Friday night.The Eagles held off the Shorthorns 63-56 with the teams combining for 1,081 yards in the latest meeting.

Lady Horns add wins over RT-C, El Campo last week

With two victories at home last week, the Lady Horns improved to 18-8 on the season.It took Schulenburg four sets to down a strong Class 1A team from Round Top-Carmine on Tuesday with the fourth game ending 29-27. Emmrie Marx led the way at the net for the Lady Horns with 26 kills.

The Lady Horn JV went 4-0 to win the JV division of the Flatonia Freshman/Junior Varsity Tournament, held Sept. 5 and 7.

SHORTHORN SUB-VARSITY FOOTBALL

The junior varsity Shorthorns dropped to 1-1 on the season after a 14-8 loss at home against the Rogers Eagles last Thursday.Colton Richburg scored the Horns’ only touchdown on a 1-yard run. JoJuan Ford added the two-point conversion. Richburg completed 9-of-15 passes for 190 yards.
