The junior varsity Shorthorns improved to 3-1 on the season after a 16-12 win at Brazos last Thursday, Sept. 19.The Horns got on the board in the second quarter on an 8-yard run by JoJuan Ford. Colton Richburg added the two-point conversion.

A week after racking up over 500 yards, the Shorthorns’ offense had a sluggish night last Friday but, bolstered by the other two phases, they notched a comfortable 28-7 win over Burton at David Husmann Memorial Stadium.

Lady Horns split five-set matches against 3A Columbus, 4A La Grange

After two marathon matches last week, the Lady Horns’ season record stood at 19-9.Schulenburg jumped out to a 2-0 lead at home on Class 3A Columbus on Tuesday, Sept. 10 only to have the Lady Cardinals win the next two sets. The Lady Horns closed out the match with a 15-8 victory in game five.
