Registration under way for boys’ summer hoops league

The Schulenburg Hoops Summer League, open to boys with high school or junior high eligibility remaining, will consist of an eight-game regular season on Monday nights in June.The league will end on Wednesday, June 26 with all teams seeded into the championship tournament.

Shorthorns add pair of wins heading into bi-district series

With a post-season spot already secured, the Shorthorns finished off their district schedule with an 11-10 win in Ganado last Monday, April 22.Schulenburg, with a 7-5 mark in District 29-2A, placed fourth behind Flatonia, Shiner, and Ganado.

Trojanettes avenge last year’s bi-district loss to Lady horns

As a fourth-place team in 2023, the Lady Horns swept districtchampion Charlotte in the first round of the playoffs. With the same scenario this year, a more experienced Trojanette squad turned the tables on Schulenburg with 10-0, 5-1 wins last Thursday and Friday in Marion.

Price retiring after 241 wins in 17 seasons

Schulenburg High School softball just completed its 29th season and, for all but 12 of those, Gilbert Price has led the team. With last Friday’s bi-district loss, his tenure came to an end.

Hoops tourney set for May 11

The Schulenburg Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host a five-on-five basketball tournament on Saturday, May 11 in the Schulenburg ISD new gym.

Horns clinch fourth place in 29-2A to make playoffs for first time since 2017

A run-rule win over Louise last Thursday at the Sports Complex upped the Shorthorns’record to 6-5 in District 29-2A and the fourthplace playoff spot was clinched when Flatonia downed Weimar 10-0 on the same night.

Lady Horns sweep doubleheader, face Charlotte in bi-district series

With 17-2 finals in both games of a doubleheader against Louise last Tuesday, the Lady Horns closed out the regular season at 6-6 in District 29-2A and 14-11 overall. Schulenburg, as the fourth-place team in 29-2A behind Shiner, Ganado, and Weimar, will face Charlotte in bi-district.
