Summer Lunch Program at SISD

Healthy lunch for children up to age 18 is being provided through “Seamless Summer Operations” at Schulenburg ISD. This includes summer school, Schulenburg Boys & Girls Club (serving at 11 a.m.) and school cafeteria (serving from 11:30 a.m. to noon).

Puppeteer Pix Smith from Dallas presented “Fun of String Variety” at the Schulenburg Public Library to an audience of about 40 on Wednesday, June 10. His musical show featured large-scale marionettes and a lively score.

Pageant forms ready to be picked up

The Schulenburg Festival Scholarship Pageant has been scheduled for Saturday, July 18 at the KC Hall at 6:30 p.m. by directors Mary Jane Pesek and Bethany Smrkovsky.

Navidad Valley CattleWomen recently awarded 11 scholarships to class of 2026 high school graduates from Fayette, Colorado and Lavaca counties. Due to the generous support of the community for the NVCW 5K Ranch Run in August, CattleWomen were able to award $12,000.

Students from the St. Rose of Lima Catholic School eighth grade class traveled to Victoria on Monday, April 27 to participate in the Diocese of Victoria Bishop’s Award ceremony held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory, where students were recognized with district honors.

Full speed ahead for Vacation Bible School at Baptist Church

Once again, the Vacation Bible School team at First Baptist Church of Schulenburg is busy preparing for a fabulous week coming July 6-10.

Schulz earns Doctor of P.T. degree

Angelo State University conferred 901 undergraduate and graduate degrees on 891 students, including Hunter Schulz from Schulenburg, during 2026 spring commencement exercises on Friday, May 15 at the Junell Center/ Stephens Arena in San Angelo.
