CCA’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Donation to Giddings State School

The Bluebonnet Regents Council of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and Catholic Daughters Court Annunciation No. 1962 of Sacred Heart Church in La Grange have made donations to the Giddings State School football team for meals for these athletes when traveling.

Senior Connections to host Nonprofit Networking Group

Polka museum to hold Donor Appreciation Event

The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum (PLCTM) will host a “Donor Appreciation Event” on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Fairgrounds pavilion in La Grange and all polka enthusiasts are invited to come for “the happy music and happy people.

Animal Shelter statistics

As of Sept. 22, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,281 for the year– 614 dogs and 667 cats in need. As of Sept. 22, the shelter had 129 animals in its care – 84 dogs and 45 cats.
