The Gardenia E. JanssenAnimal Shelter hours of operation are as follows: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for all normal operations.On Monday, the shelter is closed to the public but staff is on-site for animal care from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Swiss Alp Church sets Lenten, Easter services

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) Court St. Rose No. 1597 presented awards at the Christmas party held at the Schulenburg Hall in December. The annual Christmas party was held in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus and St. Rose Altar Society.

Food Pantry serves 152 families in December

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 152 families in December with a total of 524 individuals. The Pantry had three new clients with six individuals in those families. The amount of food given out was 9,910 pounds. Food donated was 10,203 pounds. Volunteer hours were 278.
