The Gardenia E. JanssenAnimal Shelter hours of operation are as follows: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for all normal operations. On Monday, the shelter is closed to the public but staff is on-site for animal care from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Local Food Pantry serves 142 families in November

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 142 families in November with a total of 472 individuals. The Pantry had seven new clients with 22 individuals in those families. The amount of food given out was 8,297 pounds. Food donated was 5,549 pounds. Volunteer hours were 378.
