Local Food Pantry serves 142 families in November

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 142 families in November with a total of 472 individuals. The Pantry had seven new clients with 22 individuals in those families. The amount of food given out was 8,297 pounds. Food donated was 5,549 pounds. Volunteer hours were 378.

The Gardenia E. JanssenAnimal Shelter hours of operation are as follows: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for all normal operations. On Monday, the shelter is closed to the public but staff is on-site for animal care from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lutherhill Ministries gets $15,000 from Second Chance

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $15,000 to Lutherhill Ministries. Monies donated will be used to fund the following: a camp-wide P/A system, two-way radios for the staff, NOAA weather radios and a satellite communications device/backup power system.

CCA Meals

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.
